This year, Chipping Norton Rotary Club is supporting:

lawrence-home-nursing-logo-masterThe Lawrence Home Nursing Team was established in May 1999, in memory of Dr. Martin Lawrence, a Chipping Norton GP for 25 years. He was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and in the last few weeks of his life benefited from extensive nursing care and medical support at the place he felt most comfortable: his home. It was his wish that other patients choosing to remain at home would be able to have the benefit of this type of practical and emotional support to complement existing services.

The Lawrence Home Nursing Team, now well established, has provided specialist end of life care for over 560 patients — enabling many of them to die at home with care, reassurance and self respect. They  have paid over 3,000 home visits, providing over 16,000 hours of nursing to people in the heart of their homes. They look forward to helping the terminally ill for many years to come.

Rotary Polio Plus Campaign: End Polio Now

Rotary has been in the forefront of the battle against polio for many years. But while polio cases are down 99.9% worldwide from 350,000 cases in 1988 to fewer than 100 cases in 2015 – an all-time low – our work is still not finished.  Until polio is eradicated everywhere, no unvaccinated child is safe anywhere. If polio rebounds, more than 200,000 children worldwide could be paralysed each year within a decade. $1.5 billion is still needed to fund the end of polio. This requires a massive effort that Rotary and its partners cannot do alone. Only one other human disease, smallpox, has ever been eradicated. With your help, we can make history today by ending polio. Learn more about End Polio Now.

Rotary members are enthusiastic, fun-loving and active volunteers who give their time and talents to serve communities both at home and overseas. These are dedicated people, men and women from business and professions, who share a common interest in helping others.

But we know you also have charities or schools you want to support so you may give 50% of the money you raise to a charity of your choice.

We need volunteers to help on the day, if you can spare your time please contact us.
