This year, in memory of Nick Fane who set up the event last year and passed away in March, Chipping Norton Rotary Club is supporting:

The Lawrence Home Nursing Team was established in May 1999, in memory of Dr. Martin Lawrence, a Chipping Norton GP for 25 years. He was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and in the last few weeks of his life benefited from extensive nursing care and medical support at the place he felt most comfortable: his home. It was his wish that other patients choosing to remain at home would be able to have the benefit of this type of practical and emotional support to complement existing services.

The Lawrence Home Nursing Team, now well established, has provided specialist end of life care for over 560 patients — enabling many of them to die at home with care, reassurance and self respect. They  have paid over 3,000 home visits, providing over 16,000 hours of nursing to people in the heart of their homes. They look forward to helping the terminally ill for many years to come.

        British Lung Foundation is the main UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs. With your support, their aim is to make sure that one day everyone breathes clean air with healthy lungs. They have been researching lung conditions for 30 years, and today, it remains at the heart of what they do. Their aim is always to improve care – and to prevent, treat and cure lung diseases.  They aim to prevent lung disease by campaigning for positive change in the UK’s lung health.  They are raising awareness about lung disease, the dangers that cause it, and how to look after your lungs.

WHAT IS ROTARY?

Rotary members are enthusiastic, fun-loving and active volunteers who give their time and talents to serve communities both at home and overseas. These are dedicated people, men and women from business and professions, who share a common interest in helping others. 

But we know you also have charities or schools you want to support so you may give 50% of the money you raise to a charity of your choice.
